The Gender Equality Office’s flagship initiative to integrate a gender perspective across all municipal policies is gaining momentum. This systemic approach is not only a response to domestic needs but also reflects international commitments and best practices in advancing gender equality.

Within the framework of cooperation with the EU4GenderEquality Reform Helpdesk project, funded by the European Union and implemented by NIRAS, the following activities have been carried out:
- Development of strategic documents and integration of gender mainstreaming into local policies and programs to eliminate barriers and discrimination. This contributes to ensuring equal access for all gender groups to essential resources, services, and opportunities in education, employment, healthcare, entrepreneurship, culture, safety, environmental protection, sports, and other sectors.
- Improvement of sectoral policies based on in-depth gender analysis of Kyiv residents’ needs during wartime, enabling the identification and consideration of specific needs and challenges. A gender impact assessment was conducted for the municipal target program «KyivEducation 2024-2025».
- Implementation of effective mechanisms for integrating a gender perspective into the work of all structural units of the KCSA through training and expert support. Mentoring and training assistance were provided to specialists involved in developing the «Kyiv Education2024-2025» program, with a corresponding knowledge product planned.
- Launch of partnerships with civil society and the expert community to ensure legitimacy and effectiveness in gender integration efforts in Kyiv.

The Gender Equality Office actively engages – and will continue to engage – international projects, representatives of civil society organizations, and gender experts in the development and implementation of key sectoral policies, particularly in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, and transport policy, with gender mainstreaming embedded in strategic document formulation.
